DIY Tin Can Herb Garden

Do you have old tin cans lying around? Probably not, but the next time you open up some tin cans, empty the contents and keep the cans for this simple diy tin can herb garden.

The cans do not have to be the same size, just big enough to grow your herbs in them. You can even mix and match the sizes, if you so wish.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • used tin cans
  • nail & hammer
  • spray paint
  • chalkboard paint
  • paint brush
  • potting soil
  • herbs
  • chalk
  • hand drill (optional)

Remove all labels and clean your tin cans before you begin. All you have to do really is give them a good coat of spray paint and add a few holes to the bottom of each can to allow for drainage.

I love that you can use chalk to label the tin cans and easily clean it off and re-label, if  you decide to grow a different herb in the same can. This is a super cute way to repurpose those cans and give them a second life.
