DIY Strawberry eBucket

Oh sweet and delicious strawberries, how can I easily grow you? I found this very interesting diy strawberry ebucket method, that is worth a try.

What Lane did was take the his self watering ebucket method and adopt it to grow strawberries instead, using repurposed swimming pool chemical plastic buckets.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • strawberry plants or roots
  • 5 gallon plastic buckets
  • 1 plastic 12″ colander
  • 1/2″ PVC pipe
  • potting mix
  • wood mulch
  • hand drill
  • organic fertilizer (optional)
  • compost tea (optional)

Setting up the strawberry bucket is very simple, just a little time consuming. Depending on how many strawberry plants you want, you have to drill the same number of holes in the bucket.

Plant your strawberry roots from the bottom up, starting with the bottom row. This bucket holds 25 plants i.e. 3 rows of seven and four on the top. The wood mulch stops the potting mix from falling out.
