DIY Stock Tank Garden

If you are a fan of raised garden beds for your garden, I have a pretty cook idea for you. It is also perfect for people with small gardening space or bad soil. Also if you have problems with rabbits attacking your garden, you should give this diy stock tank garden, a try.

They call it one of the easiest types of raised gardens you can set up. Instead of using a brand new stock tank, you can always use an old one. This is a great way to re-purpose and save the environment.

DIY Stock Tank Garden

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • young plants, seedlings or seeds
  • old or new galvanized stock tank
  • crow bar
  • weed barrier
  • liquid fertilizer
  • potting soil or mix
  • moisture mix (optional)
  • gravel or stones (optional)

Step By Step Instructions:

1. Lay down some gravel or stones in an area in your garden
that is flat and receives a good amount of daily sunshine.

2. Turn your stock tank upside down and plant some holes
in the bottom for drainage. On the sides too if not using gravel base.

3. Put down the weed barrier on the bottom of the stock tank.

4. Pour in your potting mix and or moisture mix into the tank.

5. Plant your plants, herbs, vegetables and seeds.

You can plant anything from tomatoes, to carrots to strawberries to squash and cucumber seeds in your stock tank garden. Do not over water your garden whilst the plants are still too young.
