DIY Plumbing Pipe Firewood Holder

What came first the fire or the firewood? The wood of course! lol. Excuse my little attempt at humor, I am in a silly mood right now. Anywho remember that diy wood stove we made, well I found the perfect thing to pair it with that will keep the firewood safe and sound. I am talking about this cool diy plumbing pipe log holder.

You know I love simple projects, and this is going to be one of them. Unfortunately, this time around we did not have the most of the required materials, so hubby has to make a trip into town to our local hardware store. I like how it has wheels, so you can just push it and not hurt your back carrying firewood.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • plywood
  • drywall screws
  • sand paper
  • wood stain
  • cloth
  • casters
  • lag screws
  • hand drill
  • plumbing pipes
  • elbows
  • floor flanges
  • t-joints
  • black spray paint (optional)

We start from the bottom, with the base which has to be very sturdy to support the weight of your firewood. At least three layers of thick plywood, held together by drywall screws. The top has to be sanded out to flatten it out. A few coats of wood stain, is also recommended on the base.

The casters are drilled to the bottom and attached using the lag screws. Assemble the plumbing pipe on the ground before attempting to screw it onto the base. Use the lag screws, they should keep everything together. Now your holder is ready to carry all your logs, right by your fireplace or wood stove.
