Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 3 or 5 gallon plastic bucket
  • 1 SUV size windshield reflector
  • chip clips or lightweight squeeze clamps
  • 10″ cake or cookie rack
  • 9″ black cake pan
  • dark colored cooking vessel/pot
  • brick or dirt or heavy weight
  • small branch or stick (optional)

As you will be using the sun to cook, a spot that receives direct sunlight is the perfect location for your cooker. You may have to keep adjusting its position to maintain maximum exposure.

What can you cook with this? Well, a one quart frozen food container took 90 minutes to begin boiling. They also scrambled some eggs and fried some hot dogs successfully.
