DIY Old Baby Crib Rabbit Hutch

LOL! I actually chuckled a bit when I first ran into this idea. It never ceases to amaze me how smart ideas come from the simpliest of things and need. For example, this diy old crib rabbit hutch rose from a need for a bigger rabbit hutch.

I have shared different ideas for rabbit hutches in the past, but hands down this has got to be the most out of this world idea. Seriously, think about it have you ever looked at a baby crib and thought of converting it into home for your rabbits?

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • old baby crib
  • wire
  • 2×4 lumber
  • zip ties
  • chicken wire or hardware cloth
  • jigsaw or circular saw or hacksaw

The crib that you choose for this project, just needs to still have a strong frame. The wooden cribs work best, that is what they used. You do not have to dissassemble anything, just tie up the corners to make them sturdy.

The 2X2s need to be cut to size, so you can use them to make the slats. Also use the zip ties to tie the chicken wire to bottom. The original crib bottom is converted into the rabbit hutch top. That is all there is to it really, another easy diy project.
