DIY Mini CD Case Greenhouse

In an earlier post we talked about building a larger sized greenhouse from CD cases. This particular diy mini CD case greenhouse is only meant to cover and protect one small plant at a time.

You can re-use all those empty CD cases and use them to build this garden cloche or mini greenhouse. Very simple diy project, but may need quite a number of CD cases.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • 4 compact disc cases
  • tape or glue

Three of the cases have to be dismantled, by carefully removing the front clear section. Join the remaining sections and create a box shape, hold everything together using tape or glue. The last case goes on the back and voila you have your mini greenhouse.

How Does It Work? The mini greenhouse helps the new seedlings by controlling the climate. The sun will shine through both the open top and the sides, warming the soil. The top lid can be closed to offer protection from any frost.
