Many homesteaders are actively involved in canning a lot of natural produce for long term storage. Now you can re-purpose your canning lids for these cute diy mason jar plant labels.
I have always hated throwing away my lids after opening the canned jars, so when I ran into this simple diy project I was giddy with excitement. However, instead of printing out the labels, I think I will just use a permanant marker.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Here’s What You Will Need:
- small mouth mason jar lids
- mod podge
- foam brush
- scissors or craft puncher
- hole puncher
- labels print outs
- craft paper
- floral pick or wire
- popsicle sticks or a twig
- permanant marker (optional)
- acrylic sealer (optional)
You can print and cut out already designed plant labels for a wide selection of plants and herbs online. These labels are what you attach to your lids using Mod Podge. This is applied both below and above each label. A hole needs to be punched in the middle top section of each lid.
Make sure when you attach your popsicle sticks or a twig that it is securely attached, so the lid does not come loose. I think I am going to try some chopsticks on the back of the lids, for some unknown reason I have a whole box of those in one of my cupboards. lol
