It is a bit too late for us, since we have been keeping goats for a few years already. However, I thought I would just share this with others who may be considering getting started. Some of the things on the list we have already posted about on this blog such as the diy goat hay feeder. Nevertheless, we will just have quick run through the diy goat starter list.
It does not really matter what breed of goats you are planning on keeping. This list pretty much covers all the different basic needs for any goat. When initially starting out you may not have readily available funds, so you can do as we did just pick the most important things. Lesa compiled this list from 5 years of experience.

It goes without saying the things you should be paying more attention to on the list are the basics. For starters you want to keep your vets number, for emergencies. Then before getting the goats you want to make sure the shelter, fence and bedding is in place. Next is the food and water, you should have a good supply of hay to feed your goats and some other goat feed.
If you can afford other additional minerals and supplements, you can consult the list for those. We just stuck to the feed and hay, our goats grew up on that. Beauty supplies such as grooming brushes, hoof trimmers and clippers can be added. Also make sure you have some health supplies as well as vaccinations readily available.
