DIY Flower Pot Smoker

I don’t know if you are familiar with the alton brown smoker? Well this diy flower pot smoker is built using the same principles just with an improved lid.

We have looked at other smoker designs in previous posts, but what I like about this one is its simplicity. You do not have to be very handy with the power tools.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • large flower pot
  • flower pot drain pan
  • single burner
  • grill grate
  • flower pot feet
  • fence gate handle
  • long screws
  • nuts
  • large washers
  • grill thermometer
  • masonry drill bit
  • sheet automotive gasket
  • 8″ cast iron skillet
  • wood chips

The first part of this project involves disassembling the burner. If you love taking things apart, like I do, this will be a lot of fun for sure. Then you want to drill the various holes both in the top and the bottom of the flower pot.

Make sure you use a skillet that fits into the bottom of your pot, before cutting off the handle. If you can not get a tight fit around the top of the lid then, you may want to wrap a towel around the top.  Smoked pulled pork can take up to 10 hours before it’s ready using this smoker.
