DIY Bicycle Tire Trellis

Here is something you could try with that old bicycle lying around in your garage. How about building yourself this DIY Bicycle Tire Trellis and use it to support your sweet peas?

If you do not have access to any old bicycle tires, you can ask a neighbor or family friend or even check your local dump. The total cost of this project was just under $10.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • old bicycle tires
  • all thread or metal pole
  • gardening string
  • nuts

Although not necessary, you can remove the tires and leave just the rims. Why give yourself more work than you should. The central support seems to need a little more time and patience to install.

They chose to actually tie the garden string on both ends, i.e. the top and bottom rims. I will try just weave it up and under and see if that makes my trellis any less sturdy.
