DIY $5 Pizza Oven

Have you ever had homemade pizza? I am not talking about the frozen kind, I am talking about the pizza that you make your own crust, choose your toppings and then pop into the oven. This is when this diy $5 pizza oven comes into the play.

It is basically just a couple of ceramic tiles laid together inside your oven, so that you can make delicious pizza. The tiles are not expensive, he got his for just 50 cents per tile from the local hardware store. Total project cost should be less than a measly five bucks.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • unglazed ceramic quarry tiles
  • woden paddle or cookie sheet

This is an easy project, however if you use the wrong type of tiles, the oven will not work as well as it should. Make sure that you only use unglazed ceramic quarry tiles for your pizza oven. You can remove the tiles after you have made your pizza and store them away for future use.

The tiles are arranged in two layers each serves a purpose. The bottom one helps produce the perfect crust, the top layer helps increase radiant heat and brown the top of the crust. Preheat your oven to highest available temperature on your oven for 45 minutes. Use a lightly floured paddle to handle your pizza, bake it for 5 to 7 minutes.
