Canning Strawberry Honey Jam Recipe

Don’t know what to do with all those fresh strawberries this summer? Well after you have grown your strawberries in your diy strawberry ebucket, instead of canning or oven drying your strawberries to preserve them you can also try this canned strawberry honey jam recipe.

It is a twist on the traditional homemade jam recipe, as this one does not require sugar or pectin. Actually you only need 4 fresh ingredients to make this in your own kitchen. For the canning part, you will need to pull out your water bath canner and get it ready for action. This jam will not be as thick, but still tastes soooo good.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • fresh strawberries
  • raw honey
  • granny smith apples
  • fresh lemon juice
  • water bath canner
  • canning jars
  • canning utensils
  • large stockpot
  • sharp knife
  • grater or food processor
  • potato masher or blender
  • kitchen towel

Wash your strawberries before hulling them and cutting them into halves or quarters. Throw them into the stockpot and add your cored grated apples. Squeeze your lemon juice into the pot, before finally adding the raw honey. Stir and bring the mixture to a boil, before reducing the heat and letting it simmer at medium heat.

Allow to simmer for 15 minutes and then mash with a potato masher or blender until smooth. Leave to simmer again for up to 45 minutes, the longer the thicker the jam. Stuff into your canning jars and process in water bath canner for 10 minutes. Lift the jars out and leave to cool on the kitchen counter overnight.
