Canning Mixed Fruit

Here’s another great idea I personally had never thought of. I mean I have had and enjoy my mixed fruit salad but I never tried canning mixed fruit before.

The process is supposed to be easier than lets say canning peach halves. This method can be used for canning different types of fruit including papaya, mango, peaches, apricots, watermelon and cherries.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • fresh mixed fruit
  • mason jars with lids
  • water bath canner
  • water
  • sugar
  • lemon juice
  • rubber spatula
  • sharp knife
  • paper towel
  • dutch oven
  • kitchen towel

Whatever you do, make sure you use fresh hard fruit only. Also soak them in lemon and water before adding them with the homemade syrup to your canning jars

Do not over boil the water in your water bath canner. Process the jars for a maximum of 20 minutes. 12 cups of fresh fruit should make about 6 pints of canned mixed fruit.
