Canning Beef Stew

So what do you do with any leftover beef you may have? Well today I discovered that you can actually go into your kitchen and spend the whole afternoon canning beef stew.

It seems pretty simple, just add the ingredients in the recommended portions. This method used a pressure canner for the actual canning process.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • beef
  • potatoes
  • carrots
  • onions
  • celery
  • canning jars
  • canning lids
  • pressure canner
  • magnetic lifterbeef or chicken stock (optional)
  • salt (optional)

The preparation for your canned beef stew will probably take longer than most other canning processes. You have to peel and cut your carrots, onions, potatoes and celery.

Instead of using beef or chicken stock you can just use water. After you have sealed your jars they are placed into the pressure canner for 90 minutes at 10lbs of pressure.
